During the 1st introduction about this committee, I found large potential of work that is carried out as a part of this canoe team. This made me enthusiastic to be responsible for functionalities as Manufacturing head. It was challenging to handle the geo polymer concrete but challenges have always been fascinating to me. Being the manufacturing lead, I had to support the mixture team and look after the casting proceedings. It was fantastic working with the whole committee and looking forward to support the committee in future as well."
I am Jorge, 23 years old, civil engineer and currently studying Offshore Engineering in the EWEM programme. I share my love for concrete structures with my passion about wind energy being General Operations Manager of the board of ASE 'Aeolus' student association. I wanted to be part of the CCR committee because, come on, a canoe out of concrete is pretty cool. My position is Mixture Commissioner, which consists of defining the parameters of the concrete mixture to be used in the manufacturing of the canoe."
I had the opportunity of being part of small scale concrete canoe races when I was doing my Bachelors back in India. Always dreamt of being part of the real deal, and this couldn't have been more exciting. Hi guys, I am Vaibhav Raghavan and my responsibities in the committee range from supporting the mixture team to taking care of the casting and testing of the canoe. Furthermore as in charge of Promotion, I also get to make posters, facebook pages and advertise the canoe and the BetonKanorace 2016."
Finally, after a couple of years of absence the TU Delft is back with a team at the concrete canoe race! Together with a very international group we are going to give it our best. Being part of the concrete canoe race committee offers a rather crazy challenge in which a lot of practical experience can be obtained. Being the chairman of the committee, I will keep an overview of everything that needs to be done and plan our weekly meetings."
My name is Renato Granata and I am an italian Civil Engineering student in TU Delft. Within the Concrete Canoe Race Committee of the U-BASE association my responsabilities range from keeping track of the expenses and resources provided to the committee, to the assessment and monitoring of the concrete mixture for the canoe. Together with my team, I will do all my best to represent TU Delft in the BetonKanoRace 2016 and make this event an unforgettable experience for everyone! Feel free to approach me for questions, doubts or to ask further info about this event!
As a Qualitate Qua I'm the link between the committee and the board. Since this is the first time U-BASE participates at the Concrete Canoe Race, we have a lot work to do, but the committee is making great progress.
With their sustainable canoe they were not only able to build a canoe, but immediatly created an innovative project."
