As you may have noticed, a while ago the glass truss was officially opened in the Green Village. During a festive meeting, a group of 60 students walked several times over the bridge to test the properties of the truss bearing the superstructure.
These tests provided the research team with a lot of data, that now needs to be further investigated: analysing, comparing with the pre-test calculations and drawing of conclusions. The team is keen to know more about the properties of the glass elements in the truss, especially on their dynamics. Therefore prof. Rob Nijsse, head of the research group, is looking for a student who wants to graduate in this subject. Prof. Andrei Metrikine of the Dynamics department is also involved in this research.
