Clubhouse Boompjes is located directly on the Maas, in the centre of Rotterdam. The new building consists of two residential towers 70 and 100 meters high, which are connected to a commercial ground floor on the lower floors. It concerns a building volume of approximately 45,000 m2 with 342 apartments, 834 m2 of commercial space, and a parking garage with an innovative shared mobility concept. There are roof gardens between the towers, the largest of which is for communal use.
Characteristics of the superstructure are the staggered volumes over the height of both towers. This difference in length creates instability in the tower and additional forces in the foundation and structural elements. The construction is designed to absorb these extra forces and to give the towers the necessary stability.
