The process of designing a building is often inefficient, in large part because not enough effort is put into the early design phase. Therefore, it is important to work towards developing computational tools that can help in the early stages of design. StructuralComponents 6 is focused on developing a computational tool for the conceptual design of mid-rise concrete buildings which are laterally supported by shear walls. With this tool, the user can create a conceptual building design with any number and arrangement of shear walls, and the tool informs the user if the design is adequate in terms of strength, stiffness and stability. The tool is implemented in Grasshopper and Python.
