Topic: Reliability analysis of Submerged Floating Tunnels

Location: Zoom, https://tudelft.zoom.us/j/7591657875

Description: A submerged floating tunnel (SFT) can be a promising solution for crossing a deep or wide waterway. This type of tunnel consists of an immersed (concrete) tube, either attached with anchor cables to the seabed or attached to pontoons floating on the water surface. This research aimed at assessing the structural reliability of SFTs, and investigating what would be necessary to apply the Partial Factor Method from Eurocode. Furthermore, the robustness of the structure was assessed and suggestions for improvements were provided.
