The story of Berend Meijer 'As a structural engineer, I work on large projects, each of which requires a unique approach and involves complex puzzles. Moreover, my work requires intensive collaboration between different disciplines, which makes it very diverse. There is also a lot of room to digitize design steps, so that you can research variants and arrive at an optimal design. I myself have been employed by Witteveen+Bos since 2021. As a starter, I get the freedom to map out my own path.
In addition to the project work, there are plenty of opportunities within Witteveen+Bos to be active in a broader perspective. Together with a colleague, I organise a bike ride for a large group of sporty Witteveen+Bos employees to draw attention to the climate, I teach colleagues how to program even better and I go along to events where we inspire students and share our work experiences. For example, I will soon be on the hockey field with seven colleagues to meet future engineers on behalf of W+B!'
