Hola,
My name is Celeste (like light blue in Spanish) and I’m excited to be the Education Commissioner of Board 11 of U-BASE this year. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where I studied Civil Engineering at Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC). After graduating, I worked for two years in a mining company, first as an intern and later as a junior engineer. In 2024, I moved to the Netherlands to start my MSc in Civil Engineering in the Structural Engineering track at Delft University of Technology, and I’m now in my second year.
Last year, I joined the U-Profiel Committee, where I got the chance to write articles for the magazine and learn more about the vibrant community within our faculty. I’ve always been fascinated by everything related to concrete, which is why this year I’m also joining the Concrete Canoe Race Committee. I’m really looking forward to getting hands-on with it!
Outside my studies, I love exploring new kinds of food (mainly eating them!), and even though I’m not the most talented at it, I find painting really relaxing and fun.
As this year’s Education Commissioner, I hope to create an open and welcoming space where everyone feels included in conversations about our courses. I want students to know they can always come to me with their thoughts, so together we can make our Master’s programme even better.
I’m looking forward to an amazing year with all of U!
Celeste
